ABOUT US

The SAGE Square & Round Dance Club was organized in 1967 by military personnel at the Semi Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) installation in Topsham, Maine. The club included civilians in their membership and when the base was deactivated a nucleus of these people decided to maintain the club, retaining the name “SAGE”.

“The purpose of the SAGE Square & Round Dance Club shall be to encourage and promote Square and Round Dancing, in general, together with complementary activities in a spirit of friendliness and good fellowship!”

The Topsham and Brunswick School Departments, the Bath Area Senior Center, as well as churches in the area cooperate with the club in providing venues for weekly workshops and monthly dances.

SAGE sponsors a New Caller/Cuer scholarship that is open to all Callers or Cuers who have been calling (or attempting to call/cue) for less than five years and reside in the state of Maine. This scholarship is designed to support the education of new Callers or Cuers in an effort to meet the SAGE charter for the promotion of Square and Round dancing. Scholarship Application.
